My Saturday was a fun filled one. We had a complimentary photoshoot due to to a consolation prize in a lucky draw. Took 40 shots altogether on 2 outlooks on our own outfits. And they took some of my pregnancy shots. My 'buncit'ness has been captured artiscally. I like buncit outlook now...

Dila's Engagement

Dila's Engagemrnt on 19th August was a wonderfull affaire indeed. She's had a photoshoot session in the evening as I was arriving. She is nicely clad in a Jawa outfit which makes her looks like a pengantin. Her reception was nicely decorated and the buffet spread was simply delicious. Definitely enjoyed myself no doubt I was there for only a short while.

fly 300..fly far far away

I was on m/c on Monday (21/08). It wasn't intentional at all. Dearie woke me up at 0650 and ask to take half day leave to accompany him while he did his freelance job. So, I then decided to go to the doctor to check on my left ear that has been drumming for the past 3weeks. I didn't ask for the m/c as I was prepared to go back to work that afternoon. But hey, the kind doctor did give me a day to rest. Yippeee!!

So I went home, and Dearie bought us nasi sambal goreng for breakfast on the way back. I slack-a-roo in front of the tv till lunch. After lunch, my poor Dearie had to make his way for work and wanted to drop by FancyPaper at Bugis. I went with him. And after he left me for his office, I decided to hit the shops at Bugis Juction and then I walked to Marina Square to sent my mp3 for servicing at Creative. And I wandered around Suntect after that. Bought loads of tops especially since my stomach is ballooning progresively and there's not much that I can fit in my wardrobe. Since I had a $10 voucher from Spring maternity, I went there to get my black pants for work. All in all I've spent $300 on my clothes. Itz been a while since I last spent that kind of amount and so I am very contented indeed!

This is what I bought:

3. maroonish top
4. white plain 3/4 sleeve
5. black pants
6. orange maternity tee
7. white wrap-around top
8. black beaded slippers
9. a mango voucher for my cousin's birthday pressie
10. AA batteries (which I bought it wrong..it should be AAA batteries)

Now..my next mission > > > clear my wardrobe space for my new maternity collection!

Out of control?!?

Ever since I got pregnant, one of the things I learn is that going to the toilet to pee is not a problem. And since the baby moves actively these days, I think I lack the control of my bladder. Whenever I feel like pee-ing, it feels like I just can't wait to reached the cubicle.
Goodness!

And I have another problem.. my left ear. I have been hearing a constant drumming heartbeat as a background 'music' in my left ear. And only in my left ear. Itz been 3 weeks now.

Ring Test

Finding out the gender of the baby:

There are lots of ways to test the gender of the baby and here's one found in Mother and Baby magazine

The ring test

Abstract from the magazine:
1. Tie a ring to a piece of cotton and suspend it over the tummy
2. If it spins around = Girl
3. If it rocks from side to side = Boy

My M-I-L method:
1. Tie a ring to a strand of your hair
2. Move the ring in an up and down motion
3. Suspend ring on the right palm of your hand
4. If it spins around = Girl
5. If it rocks from side to side = Boy
6. Do it again and again and (apparently) you can determine how many children you gonna have in future.

I have yet to try out the test found in the magazine but my M-I-L did her method on me ..the 1st time it rocks from side to side. She did a 2nd test. It moves but not in a circle nor does it rocks. She did it again. Same thing happens. She conclude that I'm gonna have just 1 child. But she said in a tone that seems to question me "Why just ONE? Or is it that I am only child and I am gonna end up with 1 child as well?"

For a moment I was dissapointed. Not because of the result of the test that determine that I am gonna end up with just 1 child but the reaction that surrounds me at that moment and their questionable faces.

And then I got stressed! It spoils my mood on that particular Sunday and I was rather quiet and slept my afternoon away until it was time to go home in the evening.

How true can the ring test be? I certainly do not and will not depend the future of the number of children on that stupid ring test. As a Muslim, shouldn't one believe in the Only One and not the ring. Well, I sure do believe in Him and will pray that I want to end up with more than just one child InsyaAllah. And even if it is my destiny that I am gonna end up with one child, I will do my very best to nurture him well and insyaAllah he will turn out fine and be the best among the rest.

Well, izzint better to have one than none.

Third appointment

Third Appointment: 12th August 2006 @ 0930hrs
Weight check: 54.4 kg (0.6kg increase since 3 weeks ago)
Belly circumference: 35cm
Baby: Dr Koh did a detail ultrasound scan and we get to see glimpse of his lil organs such as the kidney, heart, spinal cord, foot. We can see his movements and there's once where he was opening his mouth! Baby's weight: 270g
He is fine and growing well and normally. Thank God. Was able to feel him move for the first time a few weeks back. Soft and light movements and it is a lil bit ticklish, like flutters of butterflies in the stomach.


We watched The Lake House on one of the Saturday and I don't really like it that much. Crap storyline and feel that it totally impoosible for the two to meet. I'm still very confused at the thought of it.
The architecture of the Lake House is splendid. 360deg clear views and just steel construction and glass makes the house rather cold and hostile yet when one is in it, it's all warm and cozy.
If it wasn't for Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves, I won't be bothered to catch it int the cinema.

9th August 2006 marks Singapore 41st Birthday. Nope.. didnt celebrate it. (So tak kuasa!) Only watch the parade from the comfort of my living room and I'm only interested in the march past. Other performance doesn't seems any different and the years before.

Met up with Eda for lunch on Friday (11 Aug 2006) at Mussels in Brussle at Far East Square. Had Fish and Chips and it was good (but on the ex side). Solid fish with loads of chips and a whole hill of vege (which I didnt touch). She hand me some of her maternity clothes..tee shirts, pants and a skirt. Good..now I have some decent clothes to wear! yeaaaa....

Good bye my old jeans..I will miss you and will get back into shape juz so I could still fit in you.

gundu apek

While at my solitary late lunch....

I am pissed off at those apeks who sat beside me at Banquet juz now. They came to have coffee/tea at banquet and as I ate my lunch:

apek 1: "Over here better. Look at the cup, itz bigger than the coffeeshop and we pay only 10cent more. Somemore got aircon."
apek 2: "Ya, I see that."
apek 1: "But the food here no good one, not nice and very expensive! If you don't trust me, you go and try lah!"
apek 2: (glancing over at my plate of wantan noodles) "Eh! here got wantan olso. How much izzit arr?"
apek 1: " Not nice one lah. It $3.50"
apek 2: " Wah! Outside coffeeshop only $2 something and better and nicer!"

In my heart: "diamlah apek..janganlah nak kutuk ape yang aku tengah makan. Dahlah aku tengah pregnant, kang aku makan korang nanti. Takpun aku bungkus korang jadi wantan. Please keep your opinion to yourself or at least say it later after i leave can. And its $3.20 tau not $3.50!

apek 1:" those who eat here one arr..they all dont know one. Somemore it's halal here and....

By this time I can't be bothered to hear anymore and left my seat in a hurry. That apek 1 was critising Banquet food without considering those who were eating there. We were sitting at a long bar-top table. Even though, he hates the food there..diam-diam sudahlah...or say it softly to his other apek fren. No need to make such a loud statement la...! Gundu!

:: That's my stomach taken on Monday 31st July at 18 weeks. Surely its ballooning every week. And tatz my new pair of funky polka-dots shorts that Dearie got for me on Saturday at Queensway :o)

My FIRST maternity crop jeans from Spring Maternity courtesy of Azlina and Adelyn for my brithday pressie....It fits nicely and comfortably but a bit loose lah for now actually. The jeans also comes with "A making of me' journal, Mothercare massage cream and foot gel. :p Thankxxx guys... love you loadsssss!

Weekend update

Friday nite

I had my wander off to Orchard Road. Went to Mothercare at Centerpoint and got a maternity bra & undies. There's a sale on some of the items there so I tot...'why not and give it a go'
The bra is not the sexiest bra ever... more like I'm wearing my great grandma's bra! No underwire and super thick straps. And for the undies, it claims to 'sit below the bump'. I shall see abt tat when I try it on!
Dearie called as I left Mothercare to ask to go have dinner with him. I met him up at Orchard Mrt and tot nak makan at Sakura at Far East. But he said to pick a restaurant and I can have whatever I desire to eat. Feeling for pasta suddenly left us heading for Breeks at Taka. Had garlic mashed potatoes for starter and I end up having Beef Lasagna and it's Dearie to had Baked Pasta instead. But I am so full and contented once more.

Saturday

Had a sleep in and wakey at 11am. Had lunch before we left to Ayu's place in Woodlands. Took 168 and it was so damn crowded that we were standing at the bus door entrance all the way from Tampines to Woodlands Interchange. Feeling co-pilot and security guard... and we purposely ter'forgot' to tap our ezlink. So, free ride lah nampaknya!
Reached Woodlands and it was pouring but we dashed thru the rain. By the time it was abt 3pm. Had rice and ayam sambal at Ayu's place and soon after we left for Marsiling.
MIL cooked honey black-pepper chickes (as requested by me) and ape lagi..cekik lagi lah. Dearie had a karaoke session there with his mum as I lay down on the sofa due to excessive eating. But he was singing those rock songs and I dont think the baby inside feel peaceful and calm at all.
After dinner we went to Queensway to find his soccer shorts and socks but it was closing time soon after and so we head down to Mustafa Centre. That place was damn packed with all the achi-achi and the makcik-makcik and also not forgeting the amoy-amoy. I am amazed at their collection of supplements and vitamins. Very wide range of brands even from GNC to Blackmores but strangely, I couldn't find my fish oil supplement among them. (not that variety at all huh..) All the searching made my tummy rumble and we had a quick prata at midnite before headed home to ZZzzzzZzzzzz.

Sunday
Wakey early and lepakin front of the TV watching Suria Segar and fell asleep again till lunch. Dearie left for soccer in the morning and will have a meeting for hs Cliff Anniversary Dinner later on. So I'm on my own for the day....
Mother cooked chicken rice and after lunch, had a wander off at Suntect to look for Yummi Yogurt to satisfy my craving. Got a few tops on sale at Iora and Fox.
House hunting again later at 7:30pm..........................................................................................


Oh..wat a weekend it has been! :p
