Let me recall the day I went into labour which was exactly ONE month ago....

time check: 1100 hr
Wakey-wakey around 11am and it was a wet wet Tuesday.
Schedule to be admitted to Raffles Hospital today at 12noon.

Feelings:
Nervous-40%
Anxious-40%
Excited-20%

time check: 1130hr
Had breakfast of nutella sandwich before I leave for the hospital.

time check: 1200 noon
Ironed my top and jeans and soon we are on our way to the hospital.

time check:1230 hr
Out of the house with a bottle of air zam-zam, my e-bag, sweater (as it was raining) & umbrella.
Took a cab to the hospital.

time check: 1300 hr
Reached the hospital. Had fruits from the Banquet at the lobby first.
No appetite to eat lunchie!

time check: 1330 hr
Addmitted finally. Ushered to Delivery Suite of Dr Koh. Told to stripped off whatever that I'm wearing and put on a blue gown. The nurse asked some questions and filled up some forms and injected something in my bum to clear my bowels. Was put on CTG scan again. (had been doing this CTG scan since thurs 21/12 and fri 22/12). Told to wait for Dr. Koh arrival. While waiting, we watched TV of coz...
feeling damn nervous by this time and it shows on the graph of the CTG coz Baby was also nervous.

time check: 1500 hr
Dr Koh arrived and 4 nurses came into the room to prepare me to be induced. Was put on a drip and Dr Koh did an internal exam on me and break my waterbag. I was then put on a light diet and asked for toast and hot milo. He estimated that it will take 3 hrs for it to dilate to 3cm and another 8hrs to fully open up to 10cm.

Okay...now thatz a long way to go. So, I filled in my menu form asking for Chicken rice to be delivered for dinner. The nurses left me and dearie in the room and I continue to watch TV while dearie took out his PSP to play.

Was told that I cant go to the toilet after this and will need to pee in the pot placed on the bed if I ever needed to pee. I had asked for no epidural so the nurse told me to let them know if I ever needed the injection or the gas mask. So far..the pain is tolerable. There are contractions but it's rather mild for me. They came in to check every hour and asking me if it's painful and I happily said 'no'.

time check: 1800 hr
Dr Koh came in to check ...
"Ok, you are 4cm dilated. I think you will deliver by midnight. I will come in to check again later."
"So, can i have my chicken rice dinner now?"
"Ah? You still wanna eat. I put you on light diet now, no dinner for you. If not you will throw up especially after labour."

Cehh! And they all leave me and dearie alone in that room. More TV for me and dearie cont to play his game.

time check: 1815hr
Now...the pain is here as soon as the nurses left the room. The contraction came much more frequent and the pain if obviously.... painful! It felt like I wanna shit all the time and at the back of my mind all I could think of is,

"Takkan nak berak atas katil! That will be so malu"

So, I decided to close my eyes and try to sleep.
SLEEP?!? hahahahaa ya rite.

time check: 1845hr
I called in the nurse to pee. She saw me as if trying to push out and said,
"Don't push yet! Just breath in and blow out! Don't push..don't push! If not you can't push for delivery later."
"Err....I am not pushing!!"
"It's just the feeling izzit? Let me check you. Owhh, you are 7cm now."

So..what am I supposed to do now?

3 other nurses came in and Dr Koh came in again as well. I closed my eyes really tight as the pain is unbearable by then. Dearie was beside me all the time reciting the selawat and all.
And all I was thinking & wishing ...
"Janganlah aku terberak atas katil ni...tolonglah!"

I didn't think I am going to deliver soon.

Suddenly all I hear was...
" You can start pushing now. Pushhhhh...Pushhhhh.....the baby's head is there!"
Me saying this in my heart...
"Aik!! tadi kata jangan push. Korang biar betul.....and what?!? the baby's head is there?"
the nurses go..
"Push mummy...pushhhhhhhhhhh.. Push harder when you feel the contraction"
and I push and push and push until I feel that my head was going to explode.
And I heard Dr Koh said...
"Push again! The baby's head is there. Right daddy?"
Then I heard my dearie said,
"Yup, it's there!"
Me saying me my heart again,
"Oh really?!? Does that mean I dont have to wait till midnight?"
Then the nurses went..
"Push much harder NOWWWW.........!!!"
"Daddy, get ready the camera."
"Oohh?!? now? OK"

time check:1924 hr
Felt something placed on my chest. I opened my eyes and the baby is on me. He cried the minute after. He's all covered in blood. So I check his face to see his eyes, nose and mouth. And I flipped his legs to see his lil birdie..just to make sure that I got a boy.

Alhamdullilah!

Next delivery is the placenta which was of coz very much painless compared to the baby. Dr Koh then stitch me up after. The nurses clean me and the baby up and then took the baby into the nursery.

"Eh...Dah call my mother?"
"Dah. They are on their way now"
"Where's my hp? I txt the rest of my friends."

We both were busy messaging friends and family while watching Chit Chat bersama Chef Wan on Suria. hehheheheeee....
